A Letter to You: A letter to you:

Ohayo, good mornin' and probably long time no talk/see. Yea, I've been really bad these past couple months with hanging out, seeing, or even catching up via instant messenger. Well, soon enough, about 6 weeks I'll be finishing up my three classes and play(s) - aka the semester ends - and time will rear it's head back into my life. = D

Why am I doing this mass email style? As you can possibly begin to see with the above information I've been strapped for time. Plays, acting classes, etc. take up a considerable amount of time due to the nature of the theater.

Ah, life, it's such a wonderful and taxing thing. I feel like I'm living within a quote that I can't quite remember from a movie I enjoy every time I see it - The Devil's Advocate. The topic of pressure is discussed and the simple point is some people focus and others crack. Recently I've felt as though I've been doing both. To me, that's not acceptable. I want to crack under the pressure. I want to split at the seams.

= P

Of course that's far from the truth. I strive for as much perfection in my life as possible as most of my friends would and could attest to. If I'm going to do something, damn it, I want to do it right. None of this half ass stuff. Eff that.

So where was I before I took the this connecting train... Ah yes, Where have I been and what have I been up to...

Let's start with the basic stuff - I've moved out of my apartment into the basement of Ali's parents place with Ali. Who is Ali? My girlfriend and soon to be co-purchaser of an apartment that is less than 1 mile from Sarah Lawrence (the same employer - yes, something remained the same).

I'm taking three "modules" (SLC is a unique place that's all I'll say) this semester - Acting the Poetic Text, Plays that Could Change a Nation, and Directing Shakespeare. I'm acting in the 1st and 3rd modules mentioned and reading plays from the 20th century in the 2nd. It's quite a bit I must say. When I told someone from the first class that I worked 40 hours a week she looked at me with a perplexed look and asked "Really?! How?" I'm not sure my answer is as accurate now and it was then. Hence my email to you and you and you...

I've added a play and a lil something called an "Executive Board" to the list. I'm working on Chekhov's 'The Marriage Proposal' at SLC and have been working on the website for New Zenith Theater along with a group of 17 others. Whoo! Things are rockin!

So, the apartment thing is in full motion now. We're waiting on the sellers to sign and then it's all financial stuff that'll remain. Curious to see the place? Well, you've have to wait along with us because we're not moving in until 7/1 at the earliest. BUT, you can check on the site - yes I'm still geeking out whenever possible - at http://11o1.us There isn't much on the site but you can see the layout and how far work (#1) and home (#2) are from each other. = )

Mari, my roomate at 134, is moving out to Cali for those of you that know her. If you want to say hello/ciao now is better than tomorrow for she may be gone soon. = \\ Though, tis a great oppotunity! Ganbatte Mari!

This may sound weak because it is in email form but I really do miss seeing you and felt that I should tell you why I've been so hard to reach and so poor with staying in touch lately. Moving is hella-frustrating, time consuming, and tiring. Oy! Thanks to pop, lin, ali, ian, and al for all your help.

Oh, and one more thing that's happened... My best friend had published a new book! I am fortunate enough to have been a part of the original cast of the play but now the book is available for all to read! How'd this affect me? Remember that geek comment above? Well... Doug, Brian, and I put together a site for his book. Take a peek at the site - http://rememberinghypatia.com - and then pick up the book at Amazon.com. He's a local writer that's published so every single copy means something. I'll loan out my copy if you'd like it; after I read it!

Seriously though, every copy means something. If you're curious or know something that would be interested in reading about Hypatia, the last librarian of the Great Library of Alexandria, and what life was like back in this era --- go ahead and put one in your shopping cart. = )

Well, I think that about wraps it up for now... D'oh! Here's, I think, the last bit-o-news. I'm writing to you from a Apple PowerBook. Yes! I have joined the masses that are streaming to Apple products. It's finally worthwhile. Yup! I'm now in the Apple world. Wierd.

I'm still online at - http://garyploski.com - and have been doing my best to stay up to date with everything that is happening in my life and the outside world. I'm behind on a few things. And there are some of you that I would like to open a dialog up with again because I miss chatting, hanging out, etc. I'm on AIM - gploski or shhimtrying2work, Yahoo - garyploski, and my cell (the number hasn't changed)

I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. If you're in the area please give me a holla and let me know so we can try to get together. W3rd! I'm sorry I chose the method of mass e-mail. Hopefully this will give me a good kick in the arse to stay in touch with you better. Chichichi-a

Jyane!

Chattin' Away...

I remember, long ago, I used to chat with friends on-line daily. Yes, yes, yes! I swear I remember those days. They were so up-to-date. It was so easy to catch up because the in between was sometimes only a few hours old. Ah, those were easy fun filled chat sessions of old.

Now I'm caught in a catch 22... If I speak with someone online it may take a good deal of time due to the fact that we haven't spoken in long while. What usually happens...? I stay off-line because I know I'll WANT to catch up with someone but I don't have the time. And so the struggle raged on... Until today.

Day one back from the Dominican Republic and I stayed on-line all day. Granted I was packing and moving to 21 but I did get a chance, finally, to speak with Ren. Yea Ren! After months and months of hardship you've found your way into something opportune! Century 21 folk better watch their clients because Ren is coming to town. Dun, dun, dun.

It felt good to chat with her, even if it was only for a short time. Must needs focus on contacting people. Must needs focus on contacting people. Must needs focus on contacting people. Self, this is your reminder.

Take a big breath...

Hold it...

Hoold it...

Hooold it...

Annnd release --- Ahhhh.

Yea, that's how it feels now. Thank goodness for cheap beer, cheap women, and fast cars. ROCK! Here we go team! Touchdown.

Wrapping up with some good ol'fashion slappy-ness (randomness). It feels so good to be back (physically & mentally).

Roosters Everywhere!

It's time once again for another rooster to let loose... Well, in about 7 hours. The difference being that this rooster is mechanical while the other rooster I've heard for the past 4 days has been quite, as you might say, alive.

This same silly, living, rooster decided to let everyone know all day pretty much that the sun was up and beaming its happy lil rays down on us. Gosh darn I'm gonna miss that rooster. Yup. Suuuuure am.

Oh the wee red battery icon. How you warn me my inevitable need for sleep. The Emma is sound asleep after a hellish sinus pressure war raged within her head on the flight back. My thoughts? YEA DRUGS! HEY HEY SUDAFED! Who says drugs are bad for you?! = o Hehehehe.

It's back to reality in about 10 minutes. Packing, packing, and more packing will take place in the next two days. It's all about the departure from 134 to 21 to 1101! Sadly and happily there will be mucho time between the 2nd and 3rd move. Here-yee-here-yee.

Before I fall asleep at the 'wheel' I must say that the past four plus days were brilliantly relaxing and worry easing. Things that needed to be said were and somethings that weren't expected found their way to the light. I smile. = D

Oyasumi weebles. Don't fall. = p

Falling Into Place

Two nights later I'm writing in the dark again. Though, this time I can actually post my thoughts right away thanks to the brilliant technology called 802.11g. Lalala. =D I'm so happy with this wee-silver-book of fun. Ahhh.

One of the most fantastic things I've been experiencing has been the "falls into place" experience. Everything is simply falling into place. The contract was wrong and differed from what I/we expected. Next day, speak with the appropriate parties, wait one day, all fixed. It's like magic except the smoke and mirrors are kept in the wings because everything - you know what to say don'cha. =D

It's 0100 and I'm typing in the dark. There is something to say about an event like this. If you know please pass along your thoughts. I've shifted into ahhh mode due to so many things - that's right, one more time! Hehe. This trip WILL be fantastic. I almost can't recall the last time I INTENTIONALLY went somewhere warm. It was either that long ago or my gray juices are that old. Can I get those flushed like my transmission fluid paw? Shucks.

Sleep does call to me. I think it's time to listen. Oyasumi slave(s).

Shock Headed PB!

Wow. Here I am in the dark typing on my new... toy... no, my new... tool. Ahh, finally I can work on many a task on the go. I didn't expect to find my way here this soon in '05. Hello Mr. Gift Horse. = o Actually I should say, thank you FatWallet and UCONN Co-op Bookstore. They made this possible for me, Emma, two peeps at work, possibly Avenga, and many others. OH! And Apple for wanting to unload their "old" stock. Ha! Old. Riiiiight.

Rahotep is feeling a touch of glee! Amazon has already seen some of his words move through their system. Hey hey hey! The graphics for the site are now ready - Thank you Athos. Now it is up to me to blend the current site content with the new graphics. Shouldn't be a problem. Yea team. And I mean TEAM. This is a multi-headed attack on the world. "They" won't know what hit em. Actually, I'm really looking forward to reading the dang'd thing myself. Soon enough. Soon enough indeed.

Ahh, I really have not the words to explain how nice it is to be able to do this kind of thing at ANY time of day from ANYwhere. My thoughts should flow much faster and more often now. Thank goodness. I think I'll finally have the change to write to everyone I've wanted to write to. The next task will be migrating to this machine from my desktop. Here comes the email and documents. Ready, set, INDEX!

Thinking about "thoughts" I'm stewing on a play I saw this eve (Shockheaded Peter) with the berman-racket. Imagine a comedic Alice Cooper as narrator, accompanied by life size puppets, wonderfully creative costumes & make-up, and a three piece band (stand up bass, drums, and accordion) telling twisted children stories that all end in DEATH. What do you get? A great night out. It wasn't the most fluid play I've seen but it did entertain and it IS very VERY different from anything on Broadway today. And THANK GOD for that. )Throwing you a bone big man,( = O

Now that I've begun the purge of my mind... It's time to force this lil beast to "index now". So, best of fun and let it all roll on. So, until 4/1 is the ACTUAL closing date I'll remain GP.

LOL - 4/1, That's just ridiculous. Silly lawyers getting the wrong date. 6/30 baby! Six. Thir. Ty!

Nothing Special, Just a Thought.

So after another 2.5 years I'm moving on. If thing keep up like this I'm going to get uber tired of moving very very soon. It is time to move on from 134. The memories, good and bad, will follow with me happily. It only hit me today that all of the changes I'm embarking on are really happening.

Insert big wow here.

This is going to one helluva month. Traveling, packing, and moving will not create free time a'tall. My mind is racing in so many directions it barely feels as though I have a grip on what's happening. In a strange twist my back (my stress gauge) feels fantastic. This, of course, makes no sense to me in any way. During such a time I'd expect knots and aches that rival the sensation of an old, battered rock found on a mountain side.

Oh wait, is that the gift horse's mouth I'm seeing before me? = ) Nope not lookin. Not gonna look.

Last thought before I throw me skull-o-juices to the tempur: It's odd knowing I have a lawyer working for me. Such a peculiar situation, yet satisfying. = D
